PAY ATTENTION OR PAY THE PRICE

By Emma Moore P7

Armagh

1
The car horn beeps,
The victim shrieks.
The sight's not pretty,
So have some pity.

2
The ambulance sound,
Makes people gather round,
The street's all crowded,
As a little boy shouted.

3
And everybody thought,
Are they living or not?
The little girl, she's breathing,
But as a family, now they're grieving.

4
Her mother starts to weep,
Because, lying in a heap,
Is her father,
Dead.

5
Our message?
Life is not a game of dice,
Pay attention,
Or pay the price!

ROAD SAFETY

By Rachel Gamble P7
Armstrong Primary School
College Hill
Armagh

1
Dear Child,

Why do you cross in front of a car?
When there's a lollipop lady not far?
Why do you run along the kerb?
Accidents can happen, haven't you heard?

2
Don't you know this is dangerous?
Not taking care and behaving like this?
There are cars and lorries, trucks and vans,
When you cross with an adult, make sure you hold hands!

3
I've seen all the careless things you do,
You could get killed, but you don't care, do you?
Have you forgotten the ads on T.V?
Innocent people killed, just like you or me.

4
Next time you go for a ride on your bike,
Remember your helmet, buckle it tight!
ROAD SAFETY IS IMPORTANT,
IT COULD SAVE YOUR LIFE!

THINK!

ROAD SAFETY

1
Be bright, be seen,
Every night, bring a light,
Stand out and be white,
Because you know it's right.

2
Wear reflective clothes,
Because everyone knows,
It's right to be bright at night,
Be sure to be seen on the Road

3
Use armbands, belts, jackets and all,
To stop you getting mauled,
By the cars that drive on the road,
Remember the Green Cross Code.
