Cycling to Success
This year we actually saw some sunshine for a change, especially
on Saturday 22nd June, when it shone for our Cycling
Proficiency Finals at Cambridge House Grammar School, Ballymena.
Nearly 70 enthusiastic competitors took part,
representing some 17 local committees from across Northern
Ireland.
Many adults made the trip and enjoyed the keenly contested
events. These included some tough visual highway code
questions, a road route and for an additional challenge, the
skill tests.
Congratulations to all those who made the finals. Many thanks
to all who helped out on the day including our own volunteers,
PSNI, DoE and the school itself, with a special thanks to
Mr. Billy McClure, of Motor and Sport, for co-ordingating
Carnmoney Cycle & Leisure and Bike It in providing some
very generous prizes, including 2 new bicycles.
